A Metallurgical Approach to Bettie Page – 12-03-17

Bettie Page was an American pin-up of the 1950s that stood for her sexual liberation in an America that yet had to face the sexual revolution of the 1960s. I always have loved her curves and her entire body true art. Therefor I drew and painted her many times already. I did this one in my own roundism style and portrayed myself in a metal ball as well. I counterbalanced the diagonal of the body with a conical curve directed to the upper right of this graphite pencil drawing.

Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Canson Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) – A4 format)
Artist: Corné Akkers
