• Acrylic, graphite, color pencil on 100% rag Rives BFK paper.
  • Model - 01-10-17 A rather loose cubistic sketch done with colour pencils. For the 4th time in a row I used the same (indian) model. Her skin allows me to use a lot of yellow which I counterbalanced with edgy purple planes. I kept the focus on the right side and left the part of the legs on the left side open in order to give it that sketchy look. Colour pencil drawing (Derwent Coloursoft) on Canson "C"à Grain paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format) Artist: Corné Akkers
  • Zierikzee - 05-10-17 An impressionistic view on Zierikzee, where I came for the first time. I wanted to capture the atmospheric depth while on the other hand I did not want to capture a lot of detalis. The trees for example I rendered only slightly while the stress is put on the water reflections. Delft - 19-08-17 (sold)

As I came across Delft by bike I saw the 'Nieuwe Kerk' bathing in sunlight and thought it to be a great opportunity to send it to heaven being a Saturnus rocket standing on a launch platform. After all, what are churches good for anyway except as sending out a signal to whatever God you want to believe in?

    Nude - 07-12-16

A work in which I combined colour saturation with complementary colour schemes. Working with my Indian model always is very rewarding. She has a great dark skin complexion showing all kinds of colours dependant on the lighting and I tried to capture the effect of light breaking on her thighs like light fragmentated through a prisma.

    Roundism (singularity) - 01-06-17

In this drawing I tried to work out my (artistic) understanding of singularity. I came to see that bending curves to straight structures could symbolize infinity on a piece of paper that is restricted by its very nature.

The principles of singularity as defined visually by me, put on paper with regard to a view on the harbour of Vlaardingen, a town near Rotterdam, Netherlands.

    Roundism - 28-04-17

Part of the roundism series, in which I wanted to keep a big part of the body open and indicate and style only a portion of the shades.

    Sans titre - 05-05-17

This one represents Darja Collin, fomer wife of J. Slauerhoff, a great dutch poet and writer of the 1930s. I liked combining circles, rectangulars and triangles in this one.

    Roundism  04-07-17

A continuation of the same image  also used for the pastel drawing 'Into the light - 15-06-17'.  I combined my singularity theory with a little anatomical / proportional distortion.

    Bettie Page - 28-08-17

Returning to Bettie Page once in a while because her body was so slender and enables me to exploit my style of roundism to the max. In this drawing I tried to keep the forms open as much as possible while the extended lines beyond the forms create new forms, even animals!

    Cubistic nude - 11-11-16

Another model in colour and in straight cubistic planes left open to breathe. I wanted to have the negative space be an integral part of the cubistic parts as well in order to cultivate the necessary unity to obtain.

The return of the dutch elephants (@ Gouda) - 12-07-17

Some time ago I saw a cloud that perfectly looked like a baby elephant. I got the idea to draw the canal realistally and transcend into a more abstract mid-section (trees in my roundism style) and end in a surrealistic scene, thus combining impressionism, realism, cubism, roundism and surrealism.

Part of the roundism series. I was fascinated by the squares and round forms I detected in the body.

    Bettie Page - 24-02-17

Another drawing by me of Bettie Page returning to surrealism again. After scrutinizing her features and estimating what her character would have been like I came to the inescapable conclusion that eggs, rabbits, dogs and snakes cannot be dissociated with her so I immediately put myself to work.

    The Shins (live@Paradiso) 20-04-17

American band 'The Shins' performed at music temple 'Paradiso' at Amsterdam last 30th March 2017. I was there and was fascinated by the strong cubistic light triangles and the colour differences (yellow, purple, red).
